Help for families
Support and reminder limits
CaringBack is preparing for an App Store launch and is not publicly available yet. When it is, use it to coordinate a routine and communicate with family, never as the only way to handle a clinical or urgent need.
Support: support@caringback.com. Avoid sending medication names, symptoms, photos, or credentials in your first message.
If someone needs help now
The help button creates a family request when the device syncs. It does not call emergency services, activate a response center, or confirm that anyone received or replied. Contact appropriate local emergency services directly and call the person or another family member. Agree in advance who will follow up.
Local alarms and permissions
CaringBack local alarms on the person’s iPhone require iOS 26 or later and AlarmKit authorization. This feature is unavailable on earlier versions. Even with permission, the system may limit an alarm; volume, focus, battery, a powered-off device, and manufacturer settings also affect delivery. We do not promise an alarm will sound.
Alarms are scheduled on the device receiving reminders. Check in the app the date through which the local schedule is installed and whether an update is pending. The horizon is finite and can vary by platform. Open the app to sync and agree on a family check-in before the displayed horizon.
Connectivity and schedule updates
An installed schedule may continue locally until the limit shown on the device. Changes made by family reach the device only after it reconnects and accepts the revision. Do not assume that editing or cancelling a routine on your phone will cancel alarms on another offline device; confirm important changes directly with the person.
Offline reports and help requests may remain pending. “Saved”, “sent to the service”, and “taken on by a family member” are different states. A notice accepted by a provider does not prove it appeared or was read.
Reports and help requests
“Taken” is the person’s report, not independent proof of ingestion. “Not now” snoozes without advising whether or when to take a dose later. “Need help” stops reminders for that occurrence and creates a family request when connected. None of these states is a diagnosis or human response service.
Account, access, and privacy
Routine, check-in, location and help-request sharing can have separate choices. If enabled, location is one-time, foreground-only, and sent for a specific request; there is no background tracking. Pausing server sharing does not remove alarms already scheduled locally. An offline device may keep data until it receives cleanup instructions; screenshots and exported files cannot be recalled.
The authenticated self-service flow to delete one’s own account will be available in the app before public launch. For privacy help, email support@caringback.com; do not send medical information in your first message. See the privacy policy.
Subscription
The planned plan is monthly per family with no free trial, but the app does not currently accept public purchases. If offered, purchase will be through the App Store; Apple will show the price and renewal terms. Manage or cancel in Apple subscription settings. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription; restore an eligible purchase in the app using the same Apple account.
